Eleanor's First Communion
Eleanor had her first communion this weekend. She is my most spiritual kid for sure. Her favorite subject in school is religion. Any and all things Jesus, she just loves. She is the one that prays the most, forgives the most, and just has that different connection to those things than the other girls. So, this day was a BIG deal for her. It was like Christmas. It was a busy, busy weekend, and I failed to get very many pictures (as usual). We decorated the dining room with all of the things she has made at school, we hung up her quilt they made at school, and made her a cute little banner. Russ and Krystle were able to come to the service, so that made her feel extra special that someone besides her immediate family was there. She looked so pretty, and was just glowing. I am sure she will remember that day forever. She even had a little miracle happen, she says, She was sitting in her pew, and it was really stormy outside. It was thundering and lightening. Just, as the priest started to bless the bread and wine, the clouds literally parted, and the sun shone right on the picture of Jesus in the church. Eleanor noticed it right away, and she said she thought that was special that she saw it, and it happened on her day.
