Kids Deploy
The base had a mock deployment for kids ages 6-12. We signed Payton and Eleanor up. They basically had them sign in, pack a bag, take a bus to their "deployment". Then they had to complete a bunch of tasks before they could come "home". One was the rock wall. Eleanor was so nervous, she only went up just a few feet. Payton made it a bit more than halfway, before she got nervous too. But I am proud that they did it! We made them "Welcome Home" signs while they were gone. They had a blast, and I think it was good for them to see what some moms and dads have to do. Thankfully, their daddy never had to leave.
