3rd grade is hard
Payton came to me crying again. She said 3rd grade is really hard. Not the school part, she said, but the friend part. She still can't catch a break. Her friends all seem to want to get into trouble, or break a few rules, and Payton is such a rule follower, it never ends well. There is this one boy, Corey, who she has had a problem with all year. But he is friends with all of her friends, she can't avoid him. Anyway, he gets in trouble pretty much every day, and Payton gets called down to the office to give her account of what happened. She seems to be the witness that the teachers trust. But she hates tattling, and she hates getting called out of class. She feels like it is not her job. Which I understand. So, she keeps trying to tell Corey to quit getting into trouble. Well, he told her to "get the hell of out his life!". It broke her heart. We just let her talk it out at home. I think she really just needed someone to hear her and understand that it is hard. She prayed her rosary that night, and said a prayer that Corey would be nicer to her. Well, the next day she said her prayer was answered - Corey was out sick. haha. She said God must have known she needed a break. Hopefully, she learned a good lesson, and hopefully, she can get through the rest of the year.
