Drama Queen and crazy week

So, we have a drama queen on our hands.  And she is a little thing.  Her name is Amelia.  And this week, she decided to get some personality.  And let me tell you - it is ALL ABOUT HER.  If she doesn't get attention, or if the attention is directed away from her, she will scream, scowl, squeal, etc.  Example:  Maggie slammed her finger in the bedroom door, and needed her mama.  As I was attending to Maggie, Amelia heard the commotion and crawled into the kitchen to see what was the matter.  She saw me loving on Maggie, and well, we can't have that.  She started screaming and clawing at my legs and screamed every time I gave Maggie a hug or some attention.  I have noticed she has done that quite a bit lately.  Stinker.

As for a crazy week, the girls had a bit of a rough week at school.  First, I had explained to Payton and Eleanor about the bombings in Syria, and the new war that we had just gotten in to.  I explained a bit about ISIS and what the were doing.  Well, I guess it scared the girls and one night they were afraid to go to sleep, Payton was afraid they would come and get her.  Then, the next day, there was a creepy guy at the school playground, so they had a secure lockdown and the police everywhere.  Then, one of the Kindergarten teachers died suddenly, so they had grief counselors at the school and talked to the kids a bit about death.  And then, Payton came to me and said she had no friends to play with at recess.  She said she has always had friends, but this year, she doesn't really have any friends and gets lonely.  I asked her if there was anyone that she wanted to play with, and she named a few girls.  I told her to walk up to them and ask if she can play.  She said, "But usually people as me to play, I have never had to ask."  This might be a good lesson in humility for her.  But it still makes me sad that she has no friends.  I sure hope that when we move, she can find a good friend her age, we seem to have not had that luck here in South Dakota.  Good thing for sisters!!!!
