Phew! I am done!!! I knew I wanted to run Deadwood again before we leave here. I thought we might get orders soon, so I knew this year was my year to do it. I calculated it out and realized that Amelia would only be 4 months old, but that is how old Carley was when I ran my first half marathon in Omaha. So I signed up! The training was HARD. One, the weather has not been kind to us. It has been so cold and windy and dreary, so it was really hard to get good runs in. Not to mention I have FIVE kids. So, scheduling time to run was a bit hard also. Thankfully, my good friend Alicia was running it to, and we did a lot of indoor cross training together, so I know that helped. And about a month ago, at about mile 9.5 of a run, I hurt my foot. One doc thought it was carpel tunnel of the foot, one thought it was mortons neuroma, and a podiatrist thought it was turf toe. It made me nervous, but out of any of those, I couldn't really hurt myself anymore, so I figured I just needed to run it no matter.
And I did! And my fastest time!!! My first year I did it in 2:13, last year was 2:11, and this year was 2:08! I couldn't believe it. I was really hoping to be a bit faster, but I am only human I guess.

I as giving the girls a high five at the finish line!!!!
My little babe. So weird to think that last year she was in my belly when I ran it, and this year she got to watch me!
My little cheerleader. She was so cute!
