Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!~

Here are a few pictures from Christmas morning.  You can tell mama was sick, because we did no video and hardly any pictures.  I kind of was zoned out that day.  I ended up spending most of the day in bed.  Thankfully, the kids had enough presents to keep them busy that day.  When Eric and I woke up from our nap, we even found Maggie asleep in Carley's bed.  Christmas wore her out too.

We had one little mishap the night before.  The girls were so wild and would not go to sleep.  I was so tired and sick, that I really just wanted to get the presents out and go to bed.  We finally waited until about 10:30 and brought everything in our room to get ready.  I had a stack of "Santa" presents in my hands and was walking down the hall to tale them to the tree when I ran into Payton.  She said, "Mom, our stockings are gone (they were on my bed) and the cookies are eaten, but there are no presents!!!"  I told her to get back to her bed.  I hurry and put away the presents and then went and talked to her.  She was so worried about where her stocking was.  I told her that Santa was probably here, but had heard her wake up, so he couldn't finish his job.  That seemed to tide her over.  The next morning, she didn't mention a word about it, and I thought maybe she figured it was a dream.  But a few days after Christmas she came up to me and said, "Mom, now that Christmas is over, can I ask you a question?".  uh oh.  "Why were you carrying all those presents that were from Santa?".  She had brought Eleanor with her, and ha told Eleanor what had happened, so I really didn't have a choice but to say, "Santa was in a hurry and knew you were awake, so he asked me and Dad to finish helping him so he would have time to get all the other kids their presents."  So now the story is Mom and Dad got to help Santa, isn't that cool?  I hope it worked.

New Years Eve we were supposed to have dinner with some friends, but I wasn't feeling good again.  So, we had some leftovers, danced around the house, and I made the girls some Cranberry Limeades with licorice straws for their "champagne" toast.  We had a blast and I am so glad we did that instead of heading out.
