Ok, the first half of June is already gone - but that is good news to me. I have felt horrible and am just trying to get through the days. We have been busy at some points, and then not busy at all which is good.
The first part of June started with the best news of all - Grandma and Grandpa's visit. The girls were so excited. Of course, they were here for 5 days and we got one picture. How does that always happen???
Well, first of all, it rained most of the days they were here. We had planned to do some touristy stuff, but we could only drive since it was windy and rainy. The girls braved the rain at Roughlock Falls and we snapped a quick picture, but Eric and Grandma and Grandpa didn't want to get wet. What a bunch of old fuddy daddy's. ha ha.
We will cherish this picture because this will most likely be the last picture we take in a long time. And the next one will most likely have a new baby in it.
The last day they were here was Eric and I's race. I probably have a lot to write about it, but it is over and I just don't feel like it. Hopefully, when I am old and gray(er) I will still remember.
It was a tough race for both of us. Me, I had zero energy and was so tired by mile 6. My body felt like it was 100 years old. I was sore for almost a week after, which has never happened. It is so weird how fast my body changed. A few weeks before the race I was running 10-12 miles and felt great. Fast forward a few weeks and I was ready to quit. But I am glad I did it, and I am amazed that I ran 13.1 miles with morning sickness. Eric was the same way. He trained great for his race and was running so easy and it with way fast time. But the day of the race, his back and knees were hurting. Come about mile 11, his body felt 100 years old too. He walked the whole rest of the way. But the lesson learned is races are like life. Some days are good and some days are bad. But we are both glad we did it and will continue to add miles to our shoes. Keeps us young we hope!
