So, it is no secret at this point that I am pregnant. I have tried to hide it, but let me tell you, the rumor mill here on base is crazy! Eric told one of his hunting buddies, and that guy told another dentist, who told his wife, who told a girl I work out at the gym with, who told me she knew, while in front of 5 other people I know, etc.
So, pretty much everyone knows. That is, except our own kids. We hadn't said anything to them yet, we were going to wait until after my Dr. appointment. But, Payton heard Eric say the word pregnant and she about freaked out. She came running to the car and said, "Mom, are you pregnant!?" I asked her to guess. She says she didn't think so. The whole rest of the day she kept looking at me and smiling, so we finally told them, yes.
You would have thought I told them we were going to Disneyland. The whole rest of the day was all about babies. She drew a new family picture and put it on the fridge. Payton and Eleanor got my old fabric bin down and made a new stocking for the baby for Christmas. They have been throwing out names and asking if we like them. Payton told me she will need Dad to pick her up on the day I give birth, because I will be busy. She went into planning mode. It make me laugh so hard, she really is just like me. And before I put her to bed last night she told me two things 1) "how many days until I can find out if it is a boy or a girl because she just can't wait", and 2) "can I be in the hospital with you when you give birth, cuz that would be so cool, Mom."
I love that they are so excited. Now, if I can just get farther along so I can not be nervous. At this point, so many people know, so if something happens, it will be uncomfortable for a lot of people. But, I am feeling nice and horrible and sick, so I will take that as a good sign. I am trying my best to really enjoy this pregnancy, since most likely it will be my last. And I said I was going to try and enjoy it, but I can't make any promises at this point. :)
Congrats! I'm glad your kids are all so excited. They will help you enjoy it. Unless they are like my kids who got sick of picking things up for me and told me not to have any more kids. Haha.
ReplyDeletegood luck with this one. Hope its smooth sailing!
