Maggie had her 18 month appointment today. (I know, I know, she is 19 months, I am a bit late.) Anyway, I thought she was my little shorty, but it turns out, I was wrong. She has shot up in the last few months and grew on me! I compared her with the others and it is funny, she is the second tallest at this age!
Height Weight
Payton 32.5 in 23lbs 12oz
Eleanor 32.5in 24lbs 2oz
Carley 33.5in 22lbs 9oz
Maggie 33.25in 22lbs 12oz
They sure must all be related!
She failed her little speech test. Which isn't a test, just a questionnaire. And she didn't fail. She scored a 30 which is right on the cusp of needing assistance. He said she should be starting to say 2 word sentences, and she was really only saying mama, bye, thank you, dada, please, rella (Cinderella). Really only a few more if any. He told me I could put her in speech classes this young and they come to the house and work with her.
We kind of thought, "well, hey, isn't that our job?" To sit and work with her more. I rarely read to just her. I rarely have little conversations with just her. My day gets busy and I am usually telling her to do stuff, not really engaging with her.
So today I will be better. Today I will talk and read and get to know my little 18 month old better.
The funny thing is she must have heard us talking at the appointment. As we got home, she has already said Elnor, Arlee (Carley), book, toes, nose, pizza, and about 20 other words. Seriously, the girl has been talking since we got home. Stubborn little thing. :)
