My baby girl is getting so big! I can not believe she is 8. She was counting the days down since April started. She woke up on the morning of her birthday to sleet and snow, so she was a bit disappointed with the weather. But she opened her presents and that changed her attitude. She was happy after that!!! she took cupcakes to school and was excited that her birthday was on a Monday, so she would have school that day.
After school, had dinner here, then did cake. We had Chuck and Kathy over too. I spent the day making a dolphin cake, per Payton's request, since that is still her favorite animal. I think it turned out pretty cute. Payton is such a great kid. She is still the rule follower. She likes to be in charge, and likes to create games and activities for people to do. She excels in school and we have never had to study or help her with her homework. She is still an artist, and will spend her days making books, writing in her journal, drawing pictures of anything and everything. You name it, she will write it or draw it. She got an art set for her birthday and she was ready to get started making something. She is also fascinated by science, and loves to learn about fossils, geology, space, and the ocean. She can't decide between being a marine biologist, or a paleontologist. She thinks discovering dinosaur bones would be the best job. We love you Payton!

Good Morning birthday girl! She even made herself her own birthday decorations and taped them up on the wall.
Her art set!

Happy Birthday!
