I took the girls to the geology museum at the South Dakota School of Mines a few days ago. It is our Spring/Easter break so they have had off Thursday, Friday and Monday from school. (Which I can tell you is the best! I am so ready for summer.) Anyway, we went with Maggie and Carley's best friends Ashlynn and Sydney. It was fun, but a bit crazy as the little girls were kind of bored.
Payton was in awe. She wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up. Her and Eric went on her school field trip a few weeks ago to the Mammoth Site where they are doing an excavation, and she was all starry eyed. She thinks it would be the coolest job. Puzzles, research, writing, etc are all up her alley, so that might be what she will do.
Anyway, I realized this is the first and only picture of Carley and Maggie's little friends. They are the exact same age. Ashlynn is Carley's age and Sydney is Maggie's age. Alicia, their mom, and I have become really good friends. For about the last year, we have hung out most days with the girls. We go to the gym, go to the park, or each other's houses. It has been nice to have a friend that has young girls like mine, and that we get along good. Of course, she is moving next month to San Antonio, but that is life here. It was a fun day to get all the girls out, since we only have a few more before they move. Carley will be sad. Ashlynn is her first friend. Hopefully, in school next year, she will make more.
