Nana Jorczak and Umpa

Sheila came to visit, along with her boyfriend, John.  It was a great visit.  The girls were a little worried at first, since they had not seen her in 3 years.  But she had a little goodie bag for each kid right away, and that warmed them up in no time.  They stayed with Russ and Krystle, so we didn't get as much time with them as we would have liked, but we tried to hang out as much as we could.  We went to the zoo, the first day.  It was so much fun - we did some things that we had not done at the zoo before like petting the Sting Rays.  The girls loved it - even Amelia put her hand in the water to try and pet one.
We mostly swam in the pool the rest of the visit, and tried to eat dinner together each night.  It was a good visit, and it was nice for the girls to finally have some exposure to Eric's side of the family.  John was great with the kids.  He had studied up each of their names, and a bit about them, so that was really nice.  And he said Yes to whatever they asked.  So, whether they wanted a drink, wanted to play a game, or wanted him to buy something, they got what they wanted!  He told them they could call him whatever they were comfortable calling him - John, Uncle, Buddy, Grandpa, etc.  Payton called him John, I think Eleanor and Carley called him Uncle, and Maggie called him Gradnpa.  So, he came up with the nickname of Umpa (a mix of Grandpa and Uncle) - and they all called him that after!  Sheila seemed to so happy to just hang out with the girls and get to know them.  Hopefully, there can be some more visits in the future.
