First big OUCH

I decided to take the girls to the Rapid City Library today. We have only been about two times since we have lived here. It is an awesome library with fish tanks, and birds, and Ipads, and climbing stuff, but it is in a nasty part of town, and we always see some crazy people. And there was a shooting there a few years back. But, since we are leaving, I decided we should go. Carley, Maggie, and Amelia were so excited. We called it our fieldtrip. They were ready to go by 8am! We got there, and just as we got in, Maggie had to go potty. Back down the stairs, wait for her to go. Then back up the stairs, and now Carley has to poop. Lovely. We finally got to the kids part upstairs, and the girls went straight for the computers. Of course. They played for about 5 minutes when I heard this awful screaming from downstairs. I didn't know what it was, I just hoped they didn't come upstairs. As I turned my head to check the stairs and look at what was screaming, BONK!, Amelia fell off a chair and hit her mouth on the wooden desk. Blood everywhere, so I told the girls we had to go. WHYYYYY??? We just got here!!!! I know. Anyway, we get downstairs to the exit, and there was a drunk women fighting with the cops in the entrance of the library. Oh, that is what the screaming was. We jet out of there so fast, and as I am half walking/half running with two pouty kids whining that we have to leave, and one kid screaming with blood running down her face, we encounter a homeless man lying on the sidewalk, singing at the top of his lungs. I could not get in the car fast enough. I got Amelia to settle down and she looked ok. She fell asleep on the way home, and I put her in her crib. When she woke up from her nap, she was a mess!! Blood everywhere. This is her 2 hours AFTER she fell. I took her to the clinic right away, and she did cut open the little piece under the lip. They thought about stitches, but decided we would watch and see what it did. Thankfully, it looks like it should heal up just fine. And remind me to NEVER go to that library again.
