Payton - friends are hard

Payton was crying the other night and asked if she could talk.  She said that her friends and her had a miscommunication and now they were not talking to her and they think she lied and they were not including her.  She was really upset about it.  This came a few weeks after she cried because she had no one to play with in the mornings on the playground.
She seems to have a hard time making friends this year.  She doesn't really have too much in common with any of the girls in her class, and her other friends from last year are in other classes and have moved on.  I feel for her, but I know that we are moving, so I try not to make that much of a big deal.  I keep telling her that she will have miscommunications with people all of her life, and it is how we deal with those that will help us.  We came up with either her saying sorry to them, or her writing them a note.  She surprised me by saying she was going to talk to them.

It worked!  She said she told them in the morning that she was sorry they had a miscommunication and that she still wanted to be friends, and she said it worked, and was well.  Crossing my fingers she learned a good lesson there.
