February

Well, February is almost over and I am just posting.  I guess having 5 kids and a newborn one of them, makes time fly.

I am not sure how the time flew, I haven't left the house in a while.  Well, I leave the house, but I don't take the kids with me.  I have decided that it is much easier to run my errands on the weekends by myself or with the whole family, then go during the week.  My excuses are as follows:
*The weather -  It is February, the coldest month.  So, if it is windy or snowy, I stay home.
*Cleaning - it seems if I run errands, then nothing gets done around the house.  And let me tell you how much laundry I have to do.  So, staying home seems to win.
*The gym - I have started back running and I used to go at nights with the previous kids.  But with piano lessons on Tues and Thursdays, and RE on Wednesdays, I have to take the kids to the gym in the day if I want to get a workout in.  So, I have to choose between errands or the gym, and since I still have 25 lbs to go, the gym is winning so far.

Here is a bit about each kid and what they did this February:

PAYTON - still trucking along in school.  Her teacher raved about her in parent teacher conferences.  She is just such a good example to the other kids, loves to help out, and is reading like a champ.  I love that school comes easy for her.  She just did a huge project on Snow Leopards and she even had to type it up, and she is excited that it is done.  She has had a wart on her foot for awhile now, and we have been seeing the doc to freeze it but it hasn't gone away.  This week we took her to a podiatrist who gave her some prescription foot powder and put acid on it.  Let's hope it works.  The poor girl had to miss a birthday party at Watiki Waterpark on Saturday because of it and she was mad.  And Payton is doing so much better in piano!!  Hallelujah!!!  She doesn't cry anymore and seems to enjoy practicing.  I am so glad.

ELEANOR - Eleanor started piano this month.  There is a lady down the street that does them, so I take her on Tuesdays, then we take Payton downtown on Thursdays.  She seems to really enjoy it and it is so nice to run her down the street.  After her first lesson, she came home and played her new song 20 times and then gave us a recital.  She is very motivated to catch up to Payton.  Eleanor also did a cheer camp at school.  They just practiced one night, then cheered at the girls basketball game the next night.  She cried right before because she was so nervous, but she stayed strong and did it, and had a blast.

CARLEY - is bored.  She is ready for school, or for Mom to get some energy to do school here.  Neither of which will happen soon.  She is having a bit of trouble as the middle child.  She loves to play with the big girls, but she is young for some of their games.  And she loves to play with Maggie, but sometimes playing with a 2 year old is rough.  So, she is stuck in the middle.  Her and Payton seem to go at it the most of all the kids.  Not sure why, but those two just bicker constantly.  Maybe because they are the most alike.  She also loves her alone time.  She will usually play by herself all day until Eleanor and Payton come home.  School will be a bit of a transition for her I think.

MAGGIE - oh dear Maggie.  She still loves Amelia to pieces, but thankfully she leaves her alone.  She loves to play with anyone that will play with her, but only if they let her make the rules and take toys anytime she wants.  She does pretty good playing by herself too, but since we haven't been doing very much lately, she gets a bit antsy.  Still no potty training for her.  She hates her diaper, and takes it off all day long, but she just can't figure out the potty thing.  I am ready for her to figure it out.  She is also ready for her big girl bed.  She finally has forgotten her snake nightmare and is sleeping through the night again.  But she likes to relax in bed, and usually climbs in Carley's and it makes Carley mad.  So, she needs a big girl bed soon.

AMELIA - Such a good baby!!  She has her few moments of fussiness here and there, but I was prepared for much worse.  I feel so lucky that I have had 3 babies in a row that barely cry.  Not sure what I am doing right.  :)  She is starting to get an a good little schedule, and it helps in the mornings and afternoons when I have to pick up the kids.  She has also started smiling almost.  She smiles with her eyes, and her mouth tries to follow, but it is usually just one sided.  It is so cute.  And she is the most expressional baby.  You can tell exactly what she is thinking by her face.  Even the other girls have noticed her eyebrows will raise, or she will grimace, etc.  It is so funny to see.

Now on to March and nicer weather I hope!!!!!!

Amelia inspired the first LifeRunners baby pink onesie and she is on their website now as the model.  Famous already!!
This girl sneaked into Carley's bed and then feel asleep.  Poor thing just needs her own bed.
 Almost a smile!!!
Loves her bath time.
 Frosting Valentine cookies with Mom
A sister picture for heart day.  We had plenty of pink and red to match.
She wanted to cheer at the basketball game too.
She did so good, I think she knew the cheers the best.
And silly sisters with the pom poms.  I remember doing that when I was little.
