We had an uneventful Thanksgiving, which is just what I needed. I hope Christmas is the same. None of us were feeling 100%, we have all been sick for the past 3 weeks or so. Eleanor initially brought some crud home from school and it passed its way through everyone. Lots of coughing and congestion. Then she brought home some throw-up. That passed it's way around to everyone. Only Eleanor, Maggie, and Mom ended up throwing up, but everyone, even Eric, felt crummy and had a belly ache for a few days. I am hoping we are done with all of that sickness now for a while.
Thanksgiving morning we decided to head downtown, despite the 18 degrees and run in the Turkey Trot 5K. Eric and Payton ran ahead, and us slower folks did some walking, and some trotting. Then on the way back, Eric snagged Eleanor and she ran the rest with him, and Payton joined us slower folks. It felt good to get outside and it has been awhile since we have been to a race. I always love going to them.
And they were giving away pies, and Eleanor and I won, so you can't beat that.
After the race we came home and relaxed for a bit, then we headed over the Chuck and Kathy's. It was really nice not to have to be responsible for feeding my family since I didn't feel well. We just relaxed and ate a bit, then came home.
