I went on Payton's fieldtrip with her this year. She was so excited. She counted down the days and the night before she couldn't sleep. I think it was because she missed last years fieldtrip and it was the first time she would ever ride a bus.
Anyway, we bounded down to the school at about 7:50am on Wednesday. She held my hand and told anyone we passed that this was her Mom. She was very proud of me. :)
We went to the Crazyhorse Memorial. It takes about an hour, we were there for about 3 hours, and then home. It was a lot of fun. She stuck by me like glue and kept telling me this was the best day of her life. She had also brought $37 from her birthday money and other money that she was saving so she could spend it in the giftshop. She bought a $25 dreamcatcher. Let's hope it works! :)
It was also cool to see her interact with her classmates. Sometimes I get worried about some (one) of the little girls she hangs out with. She is a bit advanced for her age and Payton tells me lots of stories about her moms boyfriends, etc. But seeing the dynamic between the two was sweet. Payton was more like a mother figure to Ember. She would make sure she brought her jacket, ask her how she was doing, and Ember clung to her like a Mom. It was really cute.
I am glad I got to go with her and it was an day I won't forget either!!!
