The last few weeks we have had wonderful weather, but on Monday it started snowing. Then we watched the news and see that a pretty big storm is coming and they were saying we would get a lot. The weathermen say that a lot here, and it usually just blows away. We didn't really do anything to prepare for it. But we woke up Tuesday morning to a ton of snow. And white out conditions. Eric borrowed our neighbors snow blower and started on about 5 driveways in the neighborhood. A few hours later, all of his work was undone by more snow. School and work were cancelled Tuesday and Wednesday and then they had a late start on Thursday. It was the craziest amount of snow I have ever seen. And I hope to not see it again for a long time. We are still supposed to be in the high 30's for weather the next 10 days, so that means it probably won't melt until almost May. Ugh. Last April we were in the 80's. I guess we were spoiled.
The backyard
What does a guy do when he is stuck in the house for two days? Make a fort out of snow of course. The girls loved it! They took their barbies out and played for hours.
I didn't get a picture of our driveway, but this is about the same amount of snow on our driveway. I shoveled some sections while Eric used the snow blower. It was the heaviest most snow I have ever seen. I am tired just remembering how daunting it was to try and carve out a spot for our car to leave the driveway. And the really messed up thing was birds were chirping the whole time! That is what is weird about April snow. It sounds like spring, but looks like winter.
